Rear  Admiral Rick Williams has amassed five Legion of Merit medals during his time in the US Navy. Rear Admiral Rick Williams’ senior leadership commands included time as the commander of Navy Region Hawaii and Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific. He now serves as a volunteer with the American Red Cross as a civilian.

Founded in 1881, the Red Cross has a long history as one of the United States’ foremost humanitarian organizations, and it has been present and providing critical services during each notable conflict since World War I. Carrying out both relief and development efforts, the Red Cross is a boon to individuals who have experienced natural disaster within the United States and abroad.

Recently, the Red Cross organization was integral in providing disaster relief to the residents near the Erskine Wildfire in California. Relief workers provided more than 1,600 meals and snacks, opened three shelters, and handed out approximately 500 relief items to residents impacted by the fires.
